EDUCATION AND RELATED SUBJECTS, A course in health is one of the required subjects for graduation from Richmond Senior High School. Included in the semester course are a general health study, a First Aid course, and a study of driving regulations. It is in health that tobacco, drugs, and narcotics are studied in conformance with state law. Civil Defense is included with the First Aid unit. Health can be taken at any time, but is usually taken during the sophomore year. Driver training is an elective and has no credit offering. It is open to any pupil more than fifteen and a half years old. The class is a behind the wheel course, and pupils get about six hours of instruction. The book work in Driver Training is given as a unit of the health class.
