Mr. David Davenport Vocal Music B.M.E., M.M.E. Indiana Uni- versity. The Richmond Senior High School Concert Choir, sixty-four voices strong, each winter and spring present their concerts along with the rest of the music department. In addition to these concerts, they have appeared en masse at Rotary, Lions, and Kiwanis Club luncheons, gone to the State Choral Festival at Hagerstown, sung with the Community Chorus and Cin- cinnati Symphony. They have also caroled through the city and halls of R.H.S., and performed in assemblies for the student body. The choir has an octet which sings at special occasions when only a small group is needed. Only advanced choral singers are selected for this organization and must have had a semester in cadet, intermediate, or girls ' choir. Their style, tone, and selections have long been admired in the past for their superior quality. Under the new direction of Mr. David Davenport, they have incorporated new ideas and methods to make them sound even better. 28

It was a beautiful and typical Sunday morning in Hawaii A few of the people living on the islands were out toking an early morning pleosure ri ' .- m their private plon Activities such as surfboard riding and jjjames of catch were also in progress. The churches on Oahu were just begin- ning their morning worship services, and the U. S. ships were anchored in the har- bor. But the peace and tranquility of the day were soon to be marred by one of the worst tragedies of our age, the surprise attack by the Japanese forces, according to our dean, Richard Coons. Mr. Coons, who was stationed at Pearl Harbor during the time, witnessed the entire attack. At first I couldn ' t believe that we were under attack, but when I looked up and sow those flaming red insignias on the wings of the Japanese planes and felt bombs dropping all around, if hit me hard and fast. Immediately we scattered to the near- est shelter, but when we got our hands on some ammunition and the Japs gave us o taraet, owe began to fiaht back, The Register Shall Be December 7, 1956 DEVILS OPEN N. BASKETBALL PLAY IN GAME TONIGHT Travel To New Castle To Seek Third Win Of Season By Pat Dolehonty The Richmond Red Devils with a two- game win streak, face the tough New Castle Trojans tonight at New Castle in a North Central Conference Contest. The Trojans, with four returning let- fermen in. their starting line up, have defeated Greenfield, 64-51, and have lost to strong Hartford City, 64-47. The big guns for the Trojans five are 6-6 center Bud Fisher and 5-9 guard Ronnie Reeves. They both got 19 points in their only win of the year at Green- field. The other lettermen ar Don Joy- ner, 6-2, guard, and Tim Rogan, 6-3, forward. Devil Win The Red Devils rallied in the second half lost week to upset the Dayton Stivers Tigers. Trailing 26 to 18 at the half.
