SCHOOL UK vH «. ' To the noise of rock and roll or the sway of waltzes, we danced at the TAC Club or on the ballroom floor. We ' ll always remember that first Junior Prom as we listened and danced to the dreamy music of a top band. Those after-the-game hops and sleepless slumber parties with pizza and potato chips really were tops in our busy sched- ules. A lot of fun was crammed into a short time and little space as we rode the crowded, noisy, happy buses to out-of-town games and student con- ventions. Mardi Gras, Senior plays, and our vari- ety show, Footlights of ' 57 gave the many who worked on them, satisfaction and pleasure. 17

Mr. Donald C. Manlove, cheerful and help- ful, is our very capable principal. Being leader of a large high school is not an easy job. He has handled ably many situations, such as a window- breaking deer, a flooded cafeteria, and three floors of active students, over 1500 in number. He obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees at Pur- due University and also attended Ball State and Indiana University. From his Good Morning to That Is All, we are proud to have Mr. Manlove as our principal. Our Able Leaders Keep . . Mr. Charles R. McConnell is vice-principal and director of athletics. Taking over the job of athletic director requires much skill, but Mr. Mc- Connell, in his two years here, has handled it with efficiency and ease. He earned his A.B. degree at Oakland City College, his A.M. at Columbia University, and he has attended Purdue and a YMCA College at Springfield, Massachusetts. Lggj j Jgl % A m dm : A B E
