We Won again! Once again the cov- eted N.C.C. award was ours. Our team and coaches gave us the honor of being the school with the best football team in state. This is another event that added to our great year. COACHES During the three years Mr. Elias has been coach of our football team, he has been named Coach of the Year for two years. He has brought fame to RHS by leading our boys through two undefeated seasons in N. C. C. We are proud of Coach Elias and the great work he has done. He has made a lot of friends at RHS and we hate to see him gog but good-by Bill, and good-luck at Purdue. William Elias These two coaches add the final polish that makes our teams shine so gloriously on the basketball floor or athletic field. Their advice and devoted interest to R. H. S. and its students are a part of the many memories we take away. Mr. Hilton and Mr. Etchison 42 DOWN BOY!! Propelled by Coach Beckner, our lads opened a promising season and lived up to that promise. Across town the ringing of the victory bell became a popular tune that held first place on all of our hit parades . Coach Beckner's philosophy that every player is a potential first team member made for some highly spirited competition and brought out the best in all these fellows. The scores run up by this high flying cluster of stars in the Hoosier heavens reflect their excellent ball-handling, basket-making, and team coordination. Our great year was made greater by these good friends and fellow students. 49 Left Io -right: Joe Beckner, Tom Fletcher. Such old reliables as Wayne VanSickle, Bill Wright, Fred Cooper, Gary Snyder, Jim Carver, Jerry Usher, Darrell Alvey, George Peters and Jerry Lawrence, all of Whom are enough to spell disaster to any foe, were in there to provide the peg and Wallop needed to obtain runs and support a tight defense. This year Bar- ney Rapp and his New Englanders lived up to their expectations With their famous music. Civic Hall, usual scene of more prosaic affairs, was transformed by extraordinary decorating into a garden of beauty. Trop- ical moonlight bathed an abundance of fiowers surrounded by rock Walls upon which happy shadows glided. This year's queen was Jenny Jo Emslie and she was attended by Joy Uphaus, Maxine Scotece, Melicent Rohe, Bil- lie Hall. Cupid, let it be said, did a good business!
