The School Board BEHIND everything there is a motive or an impulse; behind every school system there is the school board. The duties of the school board are numerous and difficult. The board selects teachers, builds and supports our schools, and keeps vs atch over the school system to maintain efficiency in it. In Memoriam ALFRED W. DINGLEY 1857 — August 22, 1928 Mr. Dingley was a familiar figure to the hundreds of pupils who passed through the school during his fifty years of service as custodian. Hardly a day passed that students did not stop him in the hall to tell him some of their troubles or to ask his advice. He also gained a large circle of friends throughout Richmond. WILLIAM H. MOORE 1905 — September 5, 1928 Mr. Moore, a graduate of Purdue University, taught drafting and vocational drafting at Morton for two years. He was one of the most popular of Morton ' s teachers during this time. He always had a ready smile for everyone, and was very well liked by both students and faculty.
