The R Club got off to a late start this year with little interest shown at first, but as foot- ball season rolled around, things began to click in their usual manner. A few members donated their time and energy to collecting money at the home football games. Early in October a wienie roast was held at Maxine Wa1tz's home, after which. entertainment by Lukey Little and Emelene Hinkley was enjoyed by all. W Basketball season came upon us almost before we realized it and during the excitement of practicing and playing we failed to have very many meetings. All the members of the club joined together to help feed and entertain the visiting teams. RHS BAND The band has had a very successful year under the direction and supervision of our director Roscoe Whitten. During the summer months the band played at many different occasions and received many honors. Since school has started the band hasn't done much more than rehearse. The band had the honor of playing at the county teachers convention which was held in Richmond for the first time. We have also played a few concerts and when the weather gets better we hope to be out on the road again. The whole band takes their hats off to Mr. Whitten for the fine work he has done.
