All On Board for the ’86-’87 School Year It all began as usual on August 26, 1986. The halls were finely waxed and smooth, and the smell of freshly painted lockers filled the air. But all was not nice and fresh. There seemed to be a stench coming from room 409, Mr. Phillips’ room. The odor tortured students and faculty for about a month. Thanks to the janitorial staff, it was finally taken care of. Our school year began with many trials and tribulations concerning students drinking and driving. A car was placed outside the front of the school to remind all students of the consequences of drinking and driving, and SADD became a very prominent club in the school. With Homecoming being very early, September 26, plans went into action fast to prepare for the grand event. Float meetings were held and once again each class pulled together to produce a float which would represent their class. A very unique Halloween was celebrated in RHS on October 31. All students, as well as teachers and other faculty, were asked to dress for the oc- casion. There was a great turnout and everyone had fun. Those who didn’t participate were in awe of those who did. Along with the beginning of school, comes the start of the famous cafeteria food. Although it has improv- ed over the years, the food isn’t what really makes the lunch. It’s the feeling of friendship, chatter and laughter that fills the students in RHS. It was destined to be an awesome, unforgettable year at RHS right from the start. It’s the “ham,” Sharon Ottenbacher showin’ her stuff! Mr. Zott in the wee hours of the morning. Joseph Jennings told us all, “You’ve got to pay the price. EHSKHSEHSEH5] Opening EHSRHSEHSEHS)
