Spirit Week This year’s spirit week began with the question of whether or not we would have a bonfire. By the request of the students, we were allowed one day to collect as much wood as possi- ble. In spite of the rain, the bonfire turned out to be a success. Spirit week continued with each class participating in the following spirit week categories: Monday, Pa- jama and Sweat Day; Tuesday, Twin and Hat Day; Wednesday, Western and Hawaiian Day; Thursday Baby and Collegiate Day; Friday, Blue and White Day. Each class showed great en- thusiasm. The freshmen even surpris- ed everyone by coming in first one of the days! Overall, the seniors showed the most spirit and came in first place. Juniors Karen Domagalski and Gwynne Grace help lead the Junior Class in a spirit week cheer. EHSRHSEHSEHSJ Spirit Week KHSRHSKHSRTTS

HOMECOMING 86: Despite the rain, Richmond Blue Devils came through with a 6-0 victory against the Cros-Lex Pioneers, on September 26. Due to tornado warn- ings, the game was postponed until the next day, where Kevin Schroeder caught a 15 yard pass for the winning touchdown. The floats were judged on originali- ty, size, and neatness. The Sophomores’ colorful float took first place, while the Seniors’ binocular float took second. The Juniors’ play- ing cards placed third and the Freshmen’s boat took fourth. The Homecoming Dance on September 27 was very successful. Plenty of students and alumni par- ticipated. The Homecoming King and Queen were Kevin Schroeder and Carmen Janssen. Other Senior representatives were Jean Newman, James Owen, Anne Cousino, David Smith. The underclass representatives were Junior — Karen Domagalski, Joel Brandei; Sophomore — Charlotte Carlson, Matt Spezia; Freshmen — Michelle Batory, John Kingman. Cheerleaders march down Main Street to raise spirits and begin the ceremonies of the 1986 Homecoming. The band marches proudly down the streets of Richmond. Senior Queen Candidates: Jean Newman, Carmen Janssen, and Anne Cousino. Freshman students show their spirit. RHSKHSIfflSKBfl Homecoming 86' K HSR HSR HSRHS)
