RicfuuOitcL Qckool i Bfiufi Doutfits FOteij t L With the passing of time, the echoes of our school life will grow fainter and fainter, and then die away. Gone forever will be the routine of school life, the fun we had, and the friends we made. It is our hope that, as you glance through this book in the years to come, you will recapture those moments--and the echoes will begin again. Our sincere thanks to the local merchants, the various school organizations, and others who contributed, to make this yearbook pos- sible. CmUnS Acfeuifees and O anb atUms Atkhtbcs Adv dts is 3 Sc' 6 7 8 TO MR. ARNOLD, We, the Staff, dedicate this, the 1966 Echo. This is our way of expressing with sincere appreciation the many things Mr. Arnold has done for us. His untiring energy to better prepare us for the future has become a charac- teristic by which we recognize him. We also show our gratitude for the guidance given us as individuals so that we might work together to gain the re- spect of our parents and community. Mr. Arnold has always been ready with a quick smile, a helping hand, and an understanding of the things which have been important to us. Because of him, we take with us lov- ing memories and a desire to build fu- tures for which we can all be proud. As we leave.... we thank you, Mr. Arnold. 9 10 A wealth of memories. Keeps them alive in our hearts forever. kin bvoiiCMj II ojjtte MRS. ARMSTRONG MR. ARNOLD There is never the worry of interrupting when you are in the superintendent's office. Mrs. Armstrong, Mrs. Hecox and Mrs. Dunham are always willing to give you a helping hand. The cheery atmosphere always gives you a bright- er outlook after leaving. Mr. Arnold is there to assist you with your many problems and to give you a better organized school which is needed in every community. MRS. HECOX MRS. DUNHAM 12 MR. OLZF.M P'uttjtipal’s O hce KAY The second you step into the principal's office a new world opens up. Here there is always a pleasant smile and cheerful greeting. Here there is always friendly advice. And here there is also discipline which is needed to make a well-rounded school, which our principal, Mr. Olzem, has helped create. He has given us the opportunity to grow in many directions, not only outward but inward. Because of Mr. Olzem and his rules and standards, we now realize in order to grow we must live up to the standards which have been set aside and that some day we will look back with gratitude for being a part of this fine school system. CITU MRS. SMITH 13 Cckbol ViAAdtfru Marjie Weeks, Secretary to Mr. Jakubiak. Community School Director, Eugene C. Jakubiak, taught Speech and English here at RHS. Now Mr. .Jakubiak is in charge of Adult Education and the Community School Programs. Mrs. Lary Schlaack has taken over the duties as Attendance clerk at RHS. Mrs. Schlaack is kept busy in her new office writing excuses for all the tardy students. CoukSg W$ c  Whenever we need personal attention, Mrs. Ferguson and Mr. Smith are always there to stand by us no matter what the problem. From our counselors we have gained inspiration, guidance, and a greater understanding to help us build a better future. Our thanks and appreciation go out to Mr. Smith, who always finds time for a cheerful greeting and to Mrs. Ferguson, for guiding, helping and advising, especially the Seniors, and for being the sweet thoughtful person she has always been. 15 BMju j of EtfEctC feOtt The Richmond Board of Education is responsible for the general care and custody of the schools and property of the Richmond Community Schools. Yours is a Community School: it meets as best it can, and with every- one’s help, the urgent needs of the people, for it believes that everything that affects the welfare of the children and their families is its concern. Where does school end and life begin? There is no distinction between them. A community school is a used place, used freely and informally for all the needs of living and learning. It is, in effect, the place where learning and living converge. Bishop Method Sewing: the most popular Adult Education class.
