forward As Time Goes By we, the graduat- ing class of 1959, must now prepare to face the perils of the world. We are no longer guided and protected by our parents or teachers. Many new problems will confront us in this rapidly changing world of today, but with the preperation our educators have given us, we will be ready to solve them. As Time Goes By our goal will be Today the Town-Tomorrow the World. Zable of Contents FACULTY SENIORS UNDERCLASSMEN ACTIVITIES CLASSES ORGANIZATIONS ATHLETICS SENIOR INDEX ADVERTISERS Our'Dream Comes Zrue We, the Echo staff, dedicate our 1959 yearbook to the Citizens' Committee for the Richmond Community Schools. This we do in sincere appreciation of the labor they have put forth during the past few years toward helping the school board, and the community as a whole, obtain a new high school. Those of us who are seniors will have no opportunity to partake of the many advantages the new school will offer students, but future classes will reap the benefits of the seed sowed by the committee. We especially wish to thank Mr. Gordon Fergerson and Mr. Kenneth Rassimussen for their leadership in guiding the Citizens' Committee. The 1959 Echo Staff 3 Mr. Edward Ball Treasurer Mr. Harold Weller President RICHMOND BOARD OF EDUCATION We, the students of Richmond High School, would like to thank the Board of Education for the many hours of work they have put in this year to make the dream of a new high school finally come true. Although they arn't reconized as much as the Varsity girls, they deserve just as much credit in carrying on the school spirit. Under the direction of their advisor, Mrs. Knoll, the girls have learned many new and tricky cheers along with the rules and regulations of cheerleading. B-team girls, along with the varsity cheer- leaders have been raising money by putting on dances as well as bake sales. Girls lead crowd in cheer during one of the tense moments of the game. 86 Co-Champs Of “1959” (Left to Right) Top Row M. Czenkus, F. Neff, L. Haselhuhn, R. Trombley, C. Fryer. Row 2: Asst. Ray Trombley Standing L-R: Coach Bloomer, T. Kicinski, T. Merritt, J. Treend, D. Schneider, J. Keech, J. Dobrowalski, E. Redzilowski, B. Rowley, L. Penrod, Coach Dame. Seated: R. Fisler, J. Erhardt, D. Schultz, R. Hagen, J. Evans, T. Wilkins, B. Fryer, D. Hartway, J. Ramsey (manager), J. Vogt. Pictured is Coach Bloomer going over one of the plays with his starting five. Although these boys didn't have as good a season as the varsity had, a great amount of improvement was displayed towards the end of the season. These same boys will add strength and spirit to future varsity teams. Zake M e Out Top row: Coach Dame, R. Trombley, D. Schrieber, T. Dittman, B. Brown, B. Mantay, H. Teska, R. Schrader (manager). Seated: L. Hischke, T. Habel, C. Evans, D. Foster, D. Racer. Bat Boys: D. Johnson, D. Kleinans. The goal of this year's varsity team is to aim the championship of the St. Clair Area League. Supplied with good pitching, good hitting, and good all-around field- ers, the goal is within easy reach. The Seniors would especially like to win the championship to make it three trophies they have gained for their school during their senior year. Under the direction of Coach Dame this team should go a long way. Infielders practice for championship technique. Zb Zke Wall Top row: Coach Keech, J. Evans, D. Snider, T. Smith, D. Schroeder, R. Hagen, J. Keech, S. Wilkins , G. Kulman, Coach Dame. Seated: D. Hartway, D. Schultz, N. Bandlow, R. Fryer, D. Gramzow, B. Schroeder, B. Vogel, T. Kicinski, W. Sullivan, W. Gierke, K. Gimpert, J. Fletcher. We are grateful to Mr. Keech for volunteering his services in helping Coach Dame make a B-team possible this year at R.H.S. Because of this, the B-team is able to have a scheduled season. These boys will gain much experience by playing opposing teams. You’re Out. Zkin-Clad Hopefuls Distance men Dash men The track team of 1959 coached by Mr. Bloomer and assisted by Mr. Bean has a great deal more depth than in past years. This added depth should help the team gain more wins in both the interscholastic meets and the St. Clair County track meet. 96 97 BALL, THOMAS - Football 1-4; Track 3, 4; Operetta 1, 2; Junior Play; Senior Play; Varsity Club 3, 4; Marching Band 1,2.
