Earlier in the day a Homecoming Parade through the Richland business district was led by the Richland Marching Band with the Brighton I-ligh School Band also partici- pating. The Stardusters, Richland High School Dance Band, provided the music and during the course of the evening it was announc- ed that the football squad had selected Grace Ann Pepper as their choice to reign as Homecoming Queen. Following her coronation by Ronnie Ward she ascended to her throne on the dias and issued the following proclamation: I wish to thank my loyal subjects, and especially those members of the foot- ball squad who have bestowed this honor upon me. I shall always cherish this moment as one of the highlights of my high school career. As your queen, I hope to prove myself worthy of the tribute you have paid me and I now proclaim that mirth and merriment should be the order of the evening as I invite you all to join me and my court in the Grand March.
