Dedication If the two hundred seventy-odd students and faculty of the Richland School were askednthe question, What do you consider the highlight of your school day? a mighty chorus would answer, eatin' time! That's because it is generally recognized that throughout this entire area there is no school lunch program that tempts the palate and fillslthe stomach like the one at Richland. The one responsible for this rating gets all too little notice although everyone seems to be aware of her contribution. We expect to do our part toward remedying this situation by dedicating this 1960 volume of the Tiger to her. Mas. FLOSSIE B. STEEL TO FLOSSIE: The meals you serve on special days We hope you know we realize Are worth their weight in gold You are doing a splendid thing. How could we fail to recognize The happiness you bring? The food you serve just can't be beat For flavor, taste, and style And to each of us an added treat Is when you flash your smile. That means to us that you are pleased And we all know we are. That is why we sing you praise As a cook, both near and far. And your table decorations Are a joy to behold. We see the many things you do Beyond the call of duty The interest you show in our welfare Has become a thing of beauty. So it doesn't matter to us That to others you may seem bossy To all of the kids at Richland There is no one quite like Flossie.

,F rs, , I -s f A 'xi-T Superintendent? s Message As we come to an end of another suc- cessful school year I am happy to see the staff provide this excellent record of some of its highlights. It will doubtless be treasured by its subscribers in years to come as its pictures and print revive many memories for them. I congratulate you on a job well done. As evidence of my claim to a 'successful year may I cite the following. We opened school with sixty-one enrolled in high school and as we near the closing day those same sixty-one students comprise the school roll. Sixteen of them are eligible for perfect at- tendance awards, despite the fact that we have just passed through one of the worst winters within the memory of many. The stability and interest indicated by the above speaks well for the morale of the students and staff of our school. It is one of the big rea- sons why living and working in Richland has been such a pleasant experience for Mrs. King and myself. IOHN H. KING, Superintendent 8 years B.S.
