last Will and Testament To all those present, we the class of Richland High School for 1957, being sound and sane of mind and possessed of certain qualities and assets which we desire to convey to those who will follow us, do hereby present both collectively and individually our last will and testament. I, Larry Smith, being in a sane and sober state of mind, will to Dick Downey my ability to keep out of trouble and to Tom Robertson my studious ways. I, Dennis Kelly, being of sane and sober state of mind, will to Richard Pepper my natural instinct to duck every time Mr. Goodwin raises his arm, and to Iohn Hinshaw my ability to run the mile. Long may you be footsore. I, Jay Swartzwelter, with a mind free from the effects of alchoholic beverages , will to Chuck Peterson my chair in band and the privilege of calling signals in football next year. I hope you don't have to punt as much as we did this year. I, Karen Reinier, hereby will to Katy Nordyke my ability to get the car on Sunday afternoons. May you scrape many a fender and long may your motor stall. I hope you have a lot of exciting afternoons. Have a lot of fun, Katy. Also, If I could, I would will my seat, right in front of Keith Sasseen, to Phyllis Gould. She would appreciate that, I'm sure. I, Keith Sasseen, while in a sane and sober state of mind will to Fay Weber my height to aid him in the next basketball season. High may you grow, Fay. I, Emma Lou Hollingsworth, being mentally sound do hereby will to Mary Lou Dressler my place in the lunch line. May the hunger pangs be milder next year, Mary. We, the Senior Class of 1957, do hereby will the following to the lower classmen. To the Juniors, our ability to reign over the high school: to the Sophomores, our superior intelligence and studious ways: and to the Freshmen our ability to graduate in just four years. Signed this eighth day of May, in the year of our Lord, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-seven. 'President -... Vice-President --Secretary-Treasurer

Prophecy of Class '57 We are sure that all of you like to go to a. show to see the previews of coming attractions which are to be offered at the theater. We also believe that you are interested in the coming events and attractions that are to have the members of the Senior Class of Richland High School as the chief actors. The management of the class has , therefore, arranged for your enjoyment and entertainment at this time, a description of coming attractions of the years as they affect the worthy members of the Senior Class , now graduating from the Richland High School. Here we are in the world of tomorrow: First we see Iay Swartzwelter, who is now the sole owner of Monkey Island. Iay first became interested in monkeys when he looked in the mirror and discovered how much he resembled them. Each day at chow time Iay calls his monkeys by the famous song Buglers Holiday. We now see the former Karen Reinier married to the 80 year old professor of Parson's College. She has managed to get through college with straight A's while raising her lucky 130 kids. She is hoping for him to kick the bucket one of these days because he is a multi-millionaire. Our scene now changes and we see the world renowned race king of today: Dennis Kelly. He recently won the 500 mile speedway race at Indianapolis and is the first human being ever to accomplish this feat on foot. Dennis claims his racing ability is due to the fact that he was a star miler in track at good ol' R. H. S. As we look further into the future we cast our gaze upon Keith Sasseen. He is now employed as janitor at Richland High School. He wanted to be an accountant but couldn't manage to sneak an adding machine into class, which was different from Bookkeeping. When he failed as an accountant Phyllis Gould agreed to marry and support him. They now live happily in their 3 room apartment with their 10 kids on Phyllis' salary. Next we see Emma Lou Hollingsworth, better known as Emma the Famous. As you all know Emma Lou left High School and joined the circus. Her career soon soared to the high heavens as she found her talent in training elephants. Her' musical ability on clarinet and piano have helped her tame the savage beasts and trained them to do her slightest bidding. By now Emma has lost a few pounds and you can tell her from the elephants. Her latest accomplishment is known the world over as the only one of its kind. She bought Dumbo, the flying elephant, from Walt Disney and is taking a round-the-world cruise on his back. If you are in the area of Richland, Iowa you will see her go over tomorrow at 12:00 noon sharp. We now see Larry Smith and his wife, the former Karen Erwin. Larry is driving his new Corvette, and is on his way to Union State Bank to deposit today's net earnings of S25 ,000. This is just part of the 2 million that Larry makes each year since he took over the Bob Allen Chevrolet Sales Company, and has changed the name to Lucky Larry's Chevy Sales. And these previews you have just seen, ladies and gentlemen, are taken from a newsreel which will be shown at this theater on September 5 , fifteen years hence. We know that you will not want to miss this feature. Seats will sell at the usual customary price that seats in the assembly are sold to Freshmen by upperclassmen. No seats will be reserved. First come, first served.
