We planned, practiced, and had a dinner for the Sr. English Class and Miss Sutherlin. The remainder of the time we spent talking about color harmonies and covering the davenport. The second semester was spent in the clothing construction lab making new Outfits for spring. The Sophomores canned peaches, tomatoes, made apricot butter inthe fall. We studied food principles and practiced in the kitchen lab. Occasionally we helped in the kitchen cafeteria, learning about quantity cookery. The lax part of the first semester was spent making detailed house plans, furnishing and pricing the equipment used in the home each planned. The second se- mester was spent studying home nursing and child care. In the spring we had a play school, and practiced the principles Srtheories already discussed. The Freshman gals during the fall semester studied Szpracticed foodprin- ciples. We spent considerable time planning menus for low, medium and high income brackets. During the year we made a thorough study of the vitamins, making posters to supplement our learning. Around Christmas we talked about manners, and made posters for possible improvements. The sec- ond semester was spent in clothing construction. The three H.E. classes were very co-operative in improving the room and due to this, they have created a more homev atmosphere. 32 Freshman 81 Sophomore Agriculture Junior Sz Senior Agriculture Hi hSchool Those in the FFA Organization in- clude as follows: Freshmen: Jim Minnick, Charles Rice, Robert Wiggins, Bill McClure, Sopho- rnores: Gordon Ingalsbe, Robert Carroll, Pearce McKinney, Hugh Potter, John Kimbrellg Juniors: Dale Palin, Larry Roozc, Donald Hayman, Max Weaver, Seniors: Lee Rice, Dale Sloan. Headed by Mr. Basketball, Jim Robinson, and hot shooting-dependable, Charley Florey, and the rest of the team battled every team, all the way. Losing only to Attica and Veedersburg the Devils won 11 games preparing for the Wabash Va Lley Prelims. This title was captured by our boys in a thrilling 59-58 victory over the Covington Trojans. We then moved on to Rockville where we de- feated Rosedale 54-45 in a well-played game. The next night, with all of Richland Twp. in the stands cheering them on, the Red Devils were dropped 65-63 in an overtime by a hot shooting Clinton team. The boys fought back brilliantly, coming from 9 points back to the score 59-59 at the end of regulation time, before falling in the frantic 3 final minutes. The record stands at 15 victories and 3 defeats moving into the final month of action. We are all looking forward to the State Tournament, where re gardless of the outcome, we know our 1956-57 Red Devils will have fought with every ounce of heart they have to bring more honors to our School, our Fans, our Coach, and to themselves. 34 v A H y ,fl HE-'f ' N , A i M 1X ,B W imswsnxru-4,-.nw f . This was done by adding on additional coaching help, in the person of Mr. Bill Howard, also by having an intramural league a- mong the Fifth and Sixth grade basketball team. This added greatly to the enjoyment of the past basketball season, as they performed many times before and during the high school varsity games. On this page can be found evidence of their performance, and we feel sure that in the years to come, Richland Red Devils will be well represented in the Basketball Wars.
