SOllth Blvd. Ph. 762 Crawfordville, Indiana The junior and senior girls spent the first semester learning about housing and furniture. A field trip to a. leading furniture store in Danville, Illinois proved both interesting and educational. Some time was spent on various projects. A- mong these projects Were knitting, crocheting and other handwork. The second semester was spent on advanced sewing. A style show concluded the Home Ec. year. As shown at upper left the freshman and sophomore girls spent much of their time studying special cookery. The girls learned to prepare many unusual con- fections, pies and desserts. I un PICTURED AT LEFT learning to operate one of the new ma- chines are Donna Claypool, Nina 1ones,Charlotte McCauley, and Sally Robinson.

HAROLD APPLEGATE Hybrid Seed Newtown, Indiana RICHLANDIA STAFF At the close of the 1955 school year, the members of the school paper staff and their faculty advisor, Mr. Kenneth E. Dickerson were entertained at a dinner at Marshall's Cafeteria in Lafayette, lndiana. That night became the 1955-56 editor chosen by the staff members. The Richland School paper, the Rich- landia , contains class and departmental news, sports, articles, school social events, and feature articles. Staff members ofthe Richlandia chosen by the editor this year were Judy Robinson, grade news editor: Pam Mitchell, high school news editor: Patty Oakley, departmental news editor, and Dian Alfrey, subscription manager. Nancy Jones, Jeannine Hughes, Lois Simpson, Pat Risk, Karen Kerr, Gladys Beckelhymer, Bertha Kirsch, Edith Ingalsbe, and Marilyn Brown were typists. Feature writers included Joy Slaute r, fashion, Gladys if 45, .,., . Beckelhymer, society, Jeannine hugnes, Classroom Capers , and Edith Ingalsbe, senior interview.
