Mrs. Swan taught the fifth grade the first part of the year. Mrs. Hever, after graduating from Drury Col- lege with her A.B. degree, came here this year to teach the fourth grade. She chose teaching as her profession because she feels there is a need for guidance and good teaching in our schools today. She has one daughter, Nancy Elizabeth, 20. Mrs. Peterson, sixth grade teacher, has taught school 25 years, 21 of them at Richland. She earned her B.S, degree at the University of Missouri. She has three children, Gwen, 20, Kay, 18, and Roy, 17. Her favorite hobby is fishing. Mrs. Brewer, who likes children in all grades, is teaching kindergarten for the first time this year. She attended college at Cape Girardeau and at the Missouri University, earning her B.S. degree and half of her Mas- ters. She has two children, Karen, 12, and Teresa, 7. Mr. Gormley, a graduate of Lincoln Univer- sity with a B.S. degree, is now teaching the sixth grade. He has taught a total of twelve years, the last ten of these in Richland. He has five children, Belinda, 18, Arthur, Jr., 17, Douglas, 16, Johnny, 14, and Timmy, 13. He enjoys reading. Miss Wallis, a fifth grade teacher, has re- cently graduated from the Oklahoma Christ- ian College with her B.S. degree. This is her first year of teaching.

Mrs. Howlett, now first grade teacher, earned her B. S. degree at SMS. She has taught ten years, six of them at Richland. She, her hus- band, Robert, and their daughter Pam, 6, re- side near Richland. Mrs. Howlett enjoys read- ing and sewing. Mrs. Adams, first grade teacher, earned her B. S. degree at SMS and her Masters degree at Drury. She has taught school twenty years, ten of them at Richland. She has two children, Jane Ann, 14, and Bill, 7. Miss Beck, teaching for her first time, is now a teacher of the second grade. She earned her B. S. degree from Southwest Baptist College. She enjoys swimming, reading, and music. She chose teaching as her profession because she enjoys working with children. Mrs. Kuester taught the second grade the first part of the year. She and her husband, Don, live near Richland. He teaches science in Crocker, and works with Boy Scouts. Mrs. Murrell, a teacher of forty years with twelve of these at Richland, graduated from SMS with her B. S. degree. She is presently teaching the third grade; she chose teaching as a profession because she enjoys children Her hobby is raising flowers. She has one son, John Jacoby. Mrs. Carr taught the fourth grade the first part of the year.
