Mrs. Martha Shelton taught home eco- nomics for the first part of the school year. She is married to a Lieutenant in the Army, and lived in Waynesville. Mr. Melvin W. Olson, history instruc- tor. has taught for ten years, two of them at Richland. A graduate from the University of Minnesota with a B. S. degree. Mr. Olson finds the challenge of teaching appealing. He enjoys golf, hunting and fishing. He kept study hall for two periods each day. Mr. Kelly Degraffenreid, a graduate of Southwest Baptist College in Bol- ivar with a B. S. degree, is our coach, as well as a senior sponsor. He en- joys hunting and fishing and believes in the slogan, ’’everything you do, do well.” He, his wife, Donna, and their daughter. Stacy, live in . Richland. Mr. Robert Jones, a junior class sponsor, joined our faculty this year and teaches physical educa- tion and driver education. He earned his B. S. degree from Henderson State College. He enjoys fishing and golfing. Mrs. Mildred Farmer earned a B. S. in Education and has exper- ience in teaching math, psychology and social studies. This is her twenty-second year in the Rich- land, where she has taught since she started. Mr. Rex Noe. our senior class sponsor, has given much of his time to our projects. Out of his nine years of teaching, Mr. Noe has taught for seven years at RHS as our authority on science. He and his wife, Kathleen, have three children, Kristine. Jeannine, and Kendall.

High School Faculty Mr. Bill Fulbright conducts courses in vocational agriculture and sponsors the FFA. Possessing a B. S. and Masters degree in Education, he has been at RHS for 17 years. Mrs. Lorene Fulbright. annual sponsor, has taught at Richland for 17 years. She has a B. S. degree in Education, and teaches business education. Mr. Lilbum Traw has taught all of his seven years of teaching experience at Richland school. He presently teaches two courses of social studies and also contemporary issues. Besides his teaching duties, Mr. Traw is in charge of the library and serves as freshman class sponsor. Mrs. Helen Traw instructs English III and Literature and is the other sponsor of the freshman class. Fourteen of her seventeen years of experience have been here in Richland. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree. 20 Mr. Carl Moman, his wife, Mary Lou, and son, Chris, 6 months old, came to Richland this year from St. Louis. Besides sponsor- ing the sophomore class, he teaches 4th through 8th grades music, chorus, boys' glee club, and directs the Richlandaires. Af- ter earning his B. A. at William Jewell, and M. A. at Washington University, Mr. Moman found working with young people most re- warding. Mr. Charles Fike has taught for ten years and came to RHS this year to teach instru- mental music. He sponsors the sophomore class. He and his wife, Pat, have three sons, Timothy, 7, Charles, 4, and Daniel, 1. Feel- ing that one should try to better your com- munity, Mr. Fike enjoys helping students to learn and develop their talents.

Mr. Pryor Ray Prewett instructs all aspects of mathematics and sponsors the junior class. He has a B. S. in secondary education, and has taught for fifteen years at RHS. Mr. James Monk is a member of the RHS faculty for the first time this year. He, a teacher of English I and II, earned his AB degree from Col- gate University. He taught in Rich- land grade school before moving to RHS. He and his wife, Lori, live in Richland. Mrs. Pat Luther, a recent college graduate of SMS, is from Sullivan. She taught home economics for the last half of the year. This is her first teaching position. She says that she and her husband like living in Richland. Mr. Roy L. Woodard joined the high school faculty this year. Our industrial education instructor earned his B. S. at Northeastern Oklahoma State College, and taught three years before coming here. Mrs. Omal Killings worth, a 1951 graduate of SMS with a B. S. degree, is spending her thirteenth year of teaching in Richland. She teaches Special Education.
