Class Prophecy On May 18, 1965, the Richland Class of '55 held its' class reunion in the Colonial Hotel in Springfield, Missouri. The members of the class came from Tennessee, California, London, Hawaii, and deep, dark, Africa. We were very disappointed to find that Lois wasn't going to be able to come, but thirty minutes before the train pulled out, Carl sold a car and Lois threw her things together and came. The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Yankees in a World Series game just in time for Dwight Barnes to fly his private plane to Springfield. He has played in ten all-star games and has a batting average of 400. Keith Osborne and Evelyn Pippin arrived a few days before the reunion. Keith now owns a garage that covers a block in St. Louis, and is manufacturing hot rods. Evelyn is his private secretary. Due to the fact that Lavonne Hendrix had to attend the reunion, the Grand Ole Opry, which has been on the air for thirty years, wasn't broadcast last Saturday night because of her absence. She is now one of the top stars of the show. It wasn't a bit hard for Raymond Pruitt to get away from his job as he is now a bellhop in the Colonial Hotel. Much to everyone’s surprise, Louren Wood arrived on time. He is now directing the Convent Gardens Orchestra and has changed his name to Randall Lord Wood. He got the idea from Mrs. Dippert's Literature class, while studying Alfred Lord Tennyson. Velda, Irene, Marvel, and Nina are now nurses in Barnes Hospital. Nettie Pearl is a secretary for General Motors. The girls came driving from St. Louis in Nettie Pearl’s Cadillac, which she is demonstrating for General Motors. They had to add a top deck to the bus for Eddie and multiplications. He now owns the largest milk plant in the United States. Dale Watson arrived with a cute little wife plus two brown eyed twins. Dale is in the Marines and is stationed in San Francisco. Shirley finally got tired of answering the telephone at Hedges, so she and Charles went into business for themselves. Scotty Forman s and Jack Maxey's leave from the Navy came just in time for them to catch a plane. Much to their surprise, the airline hostess was none other than Mary Ethel Scott. From Hollywood came Sue Thomas, who is now a hairdresser for Metro-Goldwyn- Mayer. By boat from Hawaii came Virgil Lane and Duane Kays. They said they were having the time of their lives. Mary Louise hopped the train in Kansas City, where she is now working as an accountant in the National Bank. Lyle Weeks and John Vance came all the way from deep, dark, hot Africa. There they have been killing everything from lions and tigers to alligators. Shirley Wilson is now a social worker in Nebraska. The passenger list was completed by Bob Drennan and his wife, Mary. Bob is now preaching in the southern part of Missouri. 6
