In the West Side Lions Tournament, Richland streaked past Haltom 52-28 to win the title. The Rebels also won tournament, three others, Star Telegram picked the Rebs to on- ly place seventh in area but the team held the top spot for most of the year. Coach Bobby Ray also hooked a few accolades of his own. He was named 7-5A Coach of the Year, Tar- rant County Coach of the Year and Dallas Times-Herald Coach of the Year. Ray was gracious about the honors but pointed out that they are not that the Fantasy of Light tournament in important. Wichita Falls over Thanksgiving.
