Q I , . . 1 1 1 9 ' 1 1 1 1 1 . . 1 . , ., , f 1 1 , , CLASS PROPHECY Upon returmng to class after my darly rendezvous wrth Mr Perkrns I drowstly settled down to my chemtstry lesson Somewhere between an atom and a mole cule I drrfted rnto a deep slumber Suddenly I fxnd myself ln the most pecultar surroundrngs I seem to have acqurred the posrtron of a bellboy rn a famous New York hotel Srnce busrness was slow I was entertarnrng myself by readmg a western novel No sooner had I become rnterested 1n the story than I was summoned I rushed over to the desk and much to my amazement who should be rmpatrently rrngrng the bell but my former classmate B1ll Hrnes It seems after hrs success at runmng the Georgra Motel tn Rrchland he had dectded to stay rn the business and was now the new manager of thrs hotel Brll asked me to delrver a tray of food to room 15 When I entered the room I found myself confronted by a norsy group of young people and rrght 1n the mrddle of the group calmly tryrng to qutet them was Fredonra Patterson W were both overjoyed to see each other and fell rnto qurte a conversatron I learned that she had succeeded Mrs Parks as Senror Advrsor at Rrchland Hrgh School and she and her group were on thetr senror trrp As rn most conversa shaw who had always loved the medrcal professron had acqurred her M D degree and Patrrcra Monfort whose ambrtron always was to become a regrs tered nurse was now head nurse at the Stewart Webster Hosprtal After leavmg Fredoma s room I hurrred down to the bar to tell my good frxend Ralph Zellers who was strll workmg hrs way through mrnrsterral school by dorng odd Jobs what I had Just learned We started to remmrsce about our school days when our conversatron was cur short by the bell from the desk I was told to carry a lady's bags to room 14 I recognrzed her as my old school chum Mary Pearl Hartsfreld who was a buyer for Mrller Dry Goods Company rn Rlchland I learned through her that Carrre Nell Hutto was now resrdrng on a farm rn Webster County and between carrng for the house and two young daughters she 1S also a secretary at Rrchland Bank mg Company All too soon we parted and I settled back dowm to my novel The next thrng I knew someone was shakrng me and sayrng Jrmmy Wrseman you can wake up now class rs drsmrssed I sat there 1n utter amazement wondertng lf thrs could really come true Jrmmy Wtseman Prophet Patrlcra Monfort Mary Pearl Hartsfteld Ralph Zellers .
