The past, the present, and the future. All these and more were studied by students in RHS’s Social Studies classes. Sophomores studied mainly America’s past for two trimesters, with the chance to get to the present during third trimester. Juniors studied the world's past for the first trimester and other world electives second and third trimesters. Seniors studied courses dealing with social problems in the past, present, and future. Special films and speakers enhanced the seniors’ classes. Psychology was a popular elective, captivating the minds of many seniors. Psychology students studied how people behave and even used operant conditioning on their fellow classmates. If anyone’s behavior changed this past year, he may have had a friend in Psychology conditioning them. Lee Covart Stan DeFreese Hubert Hanson Br an Kispert Once again, an effort was made to find the most interesting thing that occured in the Math Department. However, this year the attempt met with failure One event that was new was that Mr. Leary was back after having been on sabbatical. Although the math students welcomed his return, after one of his tests his new Acc. Math 12 students declined to talk about it. Another change was that for the first time, sophomores had to pass a Basic Mathematical Skills Test before entering the high school. Previously, students didn’t have to have any math at RHS. But this year, those students who didn’t pass each section of the test had to take a no-credit Basic Math class until they could pass the section they had failed. Remember sophomores, 1 + 1 = 2, not 3! Mathemat»cs 31
