Swing your partner round and round and a do-si-do! This was one of the many calls to follow while square dancing at the Sadie Hawkins Dance this year. Square dancing wasn’t the only thing to do at the dance. Two preachers” were brought in just for the occasion so that those couples who felt the urge could get hitched. The band, Sonfire, played a variety of music, which gave couples the opportunity to dance fast-paced polkas or rest their feet with slow dancing for two. Couples also enjoyed just sitting and watching the festivities, but the guys had to be careful so that they didn’t get thrown in jail. The dance was held on December 12, and the theme was You’re So Right.’’ It was a truly exciting and memorable experience. Sadie Hawkins 19

Fire and Ice Week was another busy week at RHS. It began with a Rock Fest in the auditorium, featuring two student bands. The Special Games included ping-pong, a tree-throw contest, and the traditional broom-ball games. The student champions tied the faculty team 1-1, breaking the faculty's winning streak. Sophomore Troy Grenges and Junio Dick Christopher were crowned along with Senior King Mike McGraw. Thursday’s Variety Show featured the Seventieth Street Singers, Ta-paires, Tapettes. Silks, and other talented individuals and groups. The Fire and Ice dance on Friday night marked the conclusion of the week, with couples swaying to the music of the Night Riders. 20 Fire And Ice
