10001, Desire ins Zone The Rams blew down the Corsicana Tigers, 29-15, to Win the 13-AAAA north zone championship. A score by Dietz put the Rams on the board first. The Tigers scored, but a 51-yard pass from Reisig to Painter put the Rams ahead 14-7 at the half. Then a third period pass interception by Wooten set up the third touchdown and Dietz scored. A fourth quarter jump pass from Reisig to Johnson put the Rams ahead 29-7. The Tigers scored again making the final score 29-15. 1 Eugene Moore Manager Bruce McGee Manager 1 Rush Milam Manager Lyndon Olson Trainer 1 Ram defender tackles Corsicana ball-carrier as Losak moves in to help. Dietz is finally tackled after running the kickoff back to his 26.

Ray Goodman Gary Freeman End Center Rams ponder second-half tactics during half-tirne. 204 The tough Ram defense again came through in an even- stephen-except for one Ram burst-game on the muddy field of the Stephen F. Austin Broncos. The Rams cropped up 8 first downs to the Broncos 9, while Richfield had 110 yards rushing to Austin's 90. The only score of the night came on a pass interception by linebacker Tom Bond, a de- fensive demon all night, and a 10 yard jaunt by Dietz, by far the most determined runner of the night. Other than the one burst the game tottered back and forth all night. The tremendous Ram defense was led by Griffis, whose field goal attempt was inches short, Parrish, Forsythe, Starr, and Bond. Reisig and Richards both did sufficient damage offensively to the Broncos. Sf

Rams Capture District, 12-7 Rams Losak i347 and Wooten C143 reach to save ball from Jacket's hands. As in the McCallum game, Griffis was often called upon to kick extra points for the Rams. ggi., .,aI l4 B ,H-L 5..+ Reisig struggles to keep the ball from the clutches of McCallum defender. The four-year old Richfield Rams Won their first district championship in a game that showed 10079 effort and desire from players as Well as from fans. Fourteen busloads of Ram fans unloaded to see a game that was to leave them breathless. The mighty Rams put the winning points on the scoreboard with only 37 seconds left in the game after a 48-yard, 12-play drive. Jimmy Crow's fielding of a Knight punt at midfield started the Ram march. Then 12 plays later, with fans going wild, the determined Ram squad pushed Dietz over on third and goal from the 2 yard line. The stadium was quiet enough to hear a pin drop until the referee's hands flew up. Then the crowds roared. It did not mat- ter that the extra point failed. Nothing mattered except that the mighty Richfield Rams had won! W' 5
