Tigers Trip Rival Rams, 14-7 L Johnson races to get ball before Tiger tackler gets him. 202 4. Crow reaches out for the ball. 'Q - 'ii - 1 .eh Tight Ram defense stops Tiger ball-carrier. The Richfield Rams were shocked at their homecoming game by the Waco High Tigers, who scored two lightning first quarter touchdowns to upset the Rams, 14-7. The first shocker Was a first-possession touchdown with C. A. Miller sweeping right end for 28 yards. Next, the Tigers cashed in on a short Richfield punt for their second score. The Rams' score came after Jim Parrish recovered a fumble by Luft. After Reisig's gain of 6 yards on a fourth and five, Milton Painter scored. Griffis made the extra point. A goal line stand by the Rams came in the fourth quarter. Later the Rams had a fourth down and 1 yard to the goal. Reisig slammed over left guard and appeared momentarily to be over. Then Reisig was stacked by a gang of Tigers and the ball was spotted 6 inches from the goal. A thousand Ram- backer's hearts broke as the Tigers took over and ran out the clock.

Rams Tame Broncos, 6-0 Bob Mosley Rick Johnson End End ,I Y. Ray Goodman Gary Freeman End Center Rams ponder second-half tactics during half-tirne. 204 The tough Ram defense again came through in an even- stephen-except for one Ram burst-game on the muddy field of the Stephen F. Austin Broncos. The Rams cropped up 8 first downs to the Broncos 9, while Richfield had 110 yards rushing to Austin's 90. The only score of the night came on a pass interception by linebacker Tom Bond, a de- fensive demon all night, and a 10 yard jaunt by Dietz, by far the most determined runner of the night. Other than the one burst the game tottered back and forth all night. The tremendous Ram defense was led by Griffis, whose field goal attempt was inches short, Parrish, Forsythe, Starr, and Bond. Reisig and Richards both did sufficient damage offensively to the Broncos. Sf
