Miss Grace Smith, Head of the Guidance Department Mr. Rudolph Crispeno Counselors solve every problem from schedules to scholarships. Mr. Leon Horner Mr. Ray Hull 12 • FACULTY Second to receiving a good education in 1966 and ’67 for R.M.H.S. students was finding self-direction for the future. Assisting students in this most auspicious endeavor were the Guidance Counselors. Whether it was choosing a college, or finding a career, the Counselors helped students make key decisions. The Counselors’ job was by no means an easy one. Each Counselor was responsible for over four hundred students, but somehow each had time to give his full attention to every one. College Night, in December, an important project of the Guidance Department, provided an informative evening for college-bound students. Mrs. Ruth Oass

Miss Fern Will Mr. James Vargo Assistant Principals worry about attendance and assemblies. Mr. Joseph Reiff Assistant Principals are wonderful creations. They make P.A. announcements, sign all sorts of slips, write countless memoranda, organize the school calendar, calm troubled parents, visit classes, supervise activities, approve projects, arrange for assemblies, discipline unruly students, and cope with the thousands of administrative problems which arise every day. This year, two Assistant Principals faced their gigantic tasks for the first time. Mr. Reiff and Mr. Vargo, both new to RM’s Administration, quickly gained the experience that made them as competent as the “old” Assistant Principals. FACULTY • 11

Office personnel dispense information Richard Montgomery’s secretarial staff, which might occasionally have been seen burrowing out from under mountains of paper, worked constantly to keep the school running smoothly. These ladies somehow managed to keep and organize the school’s monstrous files, control a perpetually buzzing switchboard, keep all the office devices from typewriters to mimeograph machines operating constantly, and find time to help the faculty and students when help was needed. The ROCKET staff especially benefited from the willingness of the office staff to take care of many much-needed, but little-enjoyed, jobs. Many students were thankful for the considerate, efficient registrar, who made sure that transcripts were sent to colleges quickly and that they were accurately filled out. R. M’s students will never forget Mrs. Clark and her assistance in the cafeteria. Mrs. Muller and Mrs. Henderson’s office was frequented during exam weeks; however, the services provided by the nurses were acknowledged and appreciated by all. Mrs. Clark, Cafeteria Manager.
