Again the halls in the Commercial wing of our school resounded to the tune of the type- writers. Mr. McCIay, Mrs. Coe, and Mr. Adams helped us work our way through Typing l, while others prac- ticed tor speed and accuracy in Typing ll under the able direction of Mrs. Coe. Many of us found ourselves in more spacious classrooms and others eagerly prac- ticed on new typewriters. Down the hall, the sounds of new copying and add- ing machines emitted trom our school bank and office practice rooms-with Miss Brown, Mr. Spak, and Mr. Adams directing. We students taking Banking and Of- fice Practice sold pencils, ink and paper in our station- ery store under the supervision of Mr. Finn. In addi- tion to enlarging its stock to include binders and fold- ers, our store had new, earlier hours and an improved cash register. M Students purchase activity cards as school gets under way

New rooms for almost all of us waited at the end of Christmas vacation. Our Biology Department finally had two labs in which Miss Smith, Mr. Ray, and Mr. Tomicheck explained the na- ture of living things to us. Down the hall Nlr. Tomi- check and Mr. Vargo helped us to discover and dis- cuss the many complexities of our scientific world. In the new wing, a shining new Physics lab awaited Mr. Maley's seniors and a new Chemistry lab waited for Mr. Fauly and returning iuniors. The second half of the year found some of us deep- ly engrossed in frogs, ore, steam, and equations, so engrossed that final examinations came and went be- fore we realized that school had ended. Department Mr. Finn explained the complexities of Business Lavv to our seniors, while underclassmen probed the basis of the business world in consumer education classes. Preparing for actual office work, shorthand ll stu- dents worked for speed and accuracy, while shorthand I students puzzled over and finally mastered the cryp- tic messages in Gregg's manual. With the help of new machines and classrooms, our commercial faculty and students provided their usual excellent service again this year.
