Mrs Leatherman R Porecca and R Kelly keep the office running smoothly Admmlstratwn As some ot us assisted In the office this year we saw several new names above the mall boxes Among these we found that of our new principal Mr Robert A Gvb son Throughout the year he ably served us along with his assistant principals Mr Levin Comley and Mr Rob ert Smith Each morning Mrs Nlcewarner Mrs Leatherman and Mrs Ward worked putting out the morning bulre tm excusing us for special trips and recording our grades on the permanent transcripts Several steps away Mrs Ewan made our appointments ID the counselors office typed college recommendations and answered an ever ringing telephone Our counselors Miss Cockburn and Mr Nelako guud ed us wisely in our college selections and in 'ob place ment We underclassmen received invaluable aid from them in selecting our sublects and courses E. Burkhardt, J. Drury, W. Collier and P. Bouic investigate college opportunities. BREEDLOVE B.A., Connecticut College for Women: M.A., George Washington University, English l and ll English The former auto shop and band room provided the setting for our study of Silas Marner, the Odyssey, Our Town, and Macbeth this September. ln January most of the English department moved to its new quarters on the second floor of the new wing. ln these spacious new quarters we learned and practiced the four skills of communication: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Writing compositions, making oral reports, composing business letters, and reading literature of all types occupied most of our time. Mr. Schneider smiles as P.
