Tenth grade girls sew stockings to lx filled with gifts for the needy in their pre-Christmas classes. Hems and Cupfuls Measured Up stairs we find the Home Art Department. In the right as we enter are sewing machines. The machines are always busy before the spring fashion show. Across from the machines are the kitchens. In September eleventh and twelfth grade girls prepared foreign foods. And then in December, the whiffs of baking cookies reminded us of Christmas. Over there to the right we see the dining room. All meals are served here. The story of child care resulted in the “Rocking Horse Nursery.” Future homemakers train right here in our school.

Universal Ideas Expressed In the composition of painting, in the melody of song, emotions common to all can be understood. Here is the Art class. We find paint brushes and clay fly fast and thick. There’s Miss Day helping one of the students. Let’s take a look. . . . C’mon, now, here’s the music room. That man in the director’s chair is Mr. Preston. Do, re, mi—Mr. Preston teaches both band and chorus classes now. Takes lots of work. Downstairs now, hear it? The band’s warming up. Nice, isn’t it? Time never weighs heavy on students here. Helen M. For some of us, more specialized training in cabinet making, electronics, and auto repair is taken in the final years of high school. Students study landscape planning and cartography in Mrs. Reed’s classes on the first floor. John S. Gabbert, Bis., Woodworking; Robert S. Holt, B.Ed., VI.Ed., Auto Mechanics; Gene L.
