Areas of Nature Observed Approaching the end of a long corridor strange odors drift through the air. Looking in room 116, you might see Mr. Berk” Fauley conducting an experiment by burning sulphur. It might be the peculiar odor of formaldehyde from across the hall. Miss Grace Smith brings a frog out of a jar for dissecting. Laws of the fulcrum are explained in Physics under Mrs. Hurley’s guidance. Variations other than class work appear in our annual Science Fair. Our mathematics department has had a big year. Many of our students are going into the more advanced areas of math. General students and commercials study practical phases of mathematics. Trig, and Solid Geometry students have worried over problems involving cosigns, tangents, and secants in Mr. Coblentz’s room on our main floor. Through application, we bring order to the maze of abstractions. 10

Librarian Books Lent; Espanol Spoken After a six-week plastering and painting job, our librarian Mrs. Keller and student assistants readied the library for another busy year. Our library added fiction for enjoyment and books for resource material. Our language department offers Latin, Spanish, and French. Though not required of all students, some of us studied languages for college requirements. We who took them enjoyed our elementary accomplishments in speaking and reading.
