A speech team consisting mainly of iuniors cmd sopho- mores turned out to be one of the most successful in the history of Rich East. The team, which won more trophies than any other speech team at Rich, was coached by Mr. Tim Olmstead and Mr. Fritz Wildermuth. Chris Schlecht, a junior, highlighted the year with a third place finish in Prose Reading at the State Tournament. Other members of the team that went to State were Doug Anderson in Original Monologue and Joanne Bell in After Dinner Speaking.
