MODERN DANCE Following lsadora Duncan's precedent of self-eX- pression through rhythmic body movements, Modern Dance club helped engender grace and agility in its participants. Skilled performers presented the groupis annual dance program which included original rou- tines created by club members. GYM LEADERS Selected at the end of their sophomore year by the girls, gym teachers, gym leaders spent their junior year in physical education learning varied gym games, as well as how to officiate. FROSH-SOPH After capturing the Southwest Suburban Conference Championship from Evergreen Park 6-0, the Little Rockets finished the season with an impressive ll-5-1 record. Outstanding hurler, Carter Hill, came through with eight wins and two losses. Coach John Orr's leading hitters were Al Freidin, Bob Maeyama, John Sweeney, and Bob Webster. FRESHMEN Starting with an ll-9 victory over Thornton Frac- tional South, the Baby Rockets kept up their en- thusiasm, although they ended the year with four wins, five losses, and one tie. The 1961 edition of the Rocket Netters was highly successful. Led by Ron Massey and ,lim Hawthorne, the Rocket tennis team finished with an eight and two record. Ron Massey spearheaded' the attack at the District Tournament, where he continued his undefeated string to become District Champion.
