1 Rich High's golf team, coached by Richard Dhablat, finished thelseason with five wins, seven losses, and one tie. The lowest score of the season was an 87, carded by Al Sutherland. The Rich 'LDiamondmen7, went all the way to capture the Southwest Suburban Conference crown in 1961. The impressive 14-3 record was climaxed during the District play-offs when Rich lost to Crete-Monee by a score of 5-4. Powered by the teamls most valuable player, Jim Russell, the Rockets' batting record was one to be envied. Fielding and pitching, in keeping with Rich tradition, were best in the Conference.
