Case, T. Collen. VARSITY The Rocket matmen had the best season in their history during the 1961-62 campaign. Coach George Egofske directed the Varsity wrestlers to an impressive 10 win and- 4 lost dual meet record, an unprecedented victory in their own regional, and the qualification of eight men for the sectional tournament. Three Rockets remained victorious through the sectional tournament and advanced to the state 5 competition at Arlington Heights. The end of this two day event again found the l Rockets reaching new heights with the Sth place finish of heavyweight Harlan Dodge and Rich's first state championship by Marty Lyman in the l45 pound weight class. l I Marty Lyman on his way to Riclfs first State Champion- ship in wrestling. District Champion-120 lbs FROSH-SOPH This year's little Rockets, under the direction of Coach Nordquist, finished the 1961-1962 season with a seven-won, eight-lost, and one-tied record. Highlighting the season was the first place finish in the second annual Rich Frosh-Soph Wrestling Tournament, and the undefeated record of Dan Bulla in the 120 lb. class. I09
