HIHEWIIRII Int oo a squad developed into the undefeated conference champs of '59, that the noisy Cadet Chorus became the harmonious Singing Rockets, that meek student council candidates became self-assured school leaders, that bewildered freshmen became confident seniors, familiar with logarithms, atomic theories, Sir Francis Bacon and Walt Whitman, a new school of 700 students became a great school of 1400 students. This fa . ry a 1t1on including a center for special education. Two study rooms were added to the library and 536 books added to its shelves. The kitchen and cafeteria were enlarged and an addition to the shop begun. A new trophy case was built and the basketball team played its first game on the new gym floor. The building at Westwood and Sauk Trail has reached its maximum size - yet it will continue to grow. We are a large school when we count noses, but a great one when we count minds . Dr. Robert G.
