UHHSIO UF HlAllH, PHYSIC l EDUCATIU A D SAFETY Through a varied curriculum including group activities, driver education, and classroom study, the Division of Physical Education, Health and Safety developed leadership skills, and promoted physical health and safety. The division was enlarged to include a program for students unable to profit sufficiently from the regular high school curriculum. Students participating in this program had access to a physical laboratory equipped with kitchen facilities, woodworking equipment and hand tools. Adjacent to this work area was a classroom in which the basic tool subjects were stressed with emphasis upon those skills necessary for competence in occupations.
