ML AlIOIlIAl H0 UH Slllillll National Honor Society, composed of students who have demonstrated scholastic excellence by maintaining a 3.75 academic average for five semesters or a 3.5 average for seven semesters, inducted twelve juniors and fourteen seniors into its organization at a banquet in March. The society inaugurated a student aid program to help pupils with minor difficulties in mathematics. Norris Sllllli l IIUU llll In keeping with the democratic freedoms enjoyed at Rich, students elect class representatives to the Student Council, the most vital organ of student government. The Council met weekly to plan and organize student activities and to coordinate the programs of various clubs. It raised money for the American Field Service by sponsoring Bermuda Day : students bought tickets and were permitted to wear bermuda shorts to classes. Stefan Ionsson, foreign exchange student at Rich, attended Council meetings to gain fresh ideas about student-supervised activities to bring back to his native Sweden.
