Doug McCarthy, Tim Terrien, and Tom Perras, FOOTBALL The Little Indians, gridiron squad of 1959 was much more successful than the record indicates. The team lost to Brattleboro and St. Johnsbury by close margins. The '6Tribe was also the only team to defeat Rutland and Mt. St. Joseph. The biggest thrill for everyone concerned was our victory over Burlington in the final game of the season when Tom Perras scored with only two minutes showing on the clock. The Landersmen completed the season with a very respectable record of four wins and four losses. This was mainly due to hard work, hustle, and excellent coaching by Bill Landers. Ray Tafrate, Bob Noonan, and Jimmy Martin. When graduation rolls around in June it will be time for the coach to bid fare- well to such men as: ends, Tom Perras, Pete Smithg tackles, Ronnie Oliver, Pete Durochia and '6Agony Cilmoreg guards. Bill McKenzie, Pat Mahoney and Mike McGarry: center, Dave Keller: quarterback. Marty Fitzgerald: fullbacks, Tim Terrien and Jim Leddyg and halfbacks, Doug McCarthy and Armand Lcpage. To continue with our winning ways, the coach will look toward Bobby Carver, Tony Valenti, Mich Thibault, Jimmy Couture, Pete Lavalee, Dan Stone. Jerry Premo, John McLaughlin, John Donoghue, and Rodger Duquette. The seniors who are departing will regret handing in their helmets but they may be consoled by the fact that they will never have to hand in their gridiron memories. Memories like jarring tackles. recovering fumbles. and most of all defeating Burling- ton in our senior year can never grow dim. eta
