Tltllltil BUYS? SUUALTTY Can you imagine how dull study hall would be without a candy break? And when you know the profit will go to a worthy cause, it makes it even more en- joyable. The Boys' Sodality, seeing both of these ad- vantages undertook this activity to raise funds. They also cooperated with the Girls' Sodality in making Spotlite a success, observed Catholic Youth Week with an essay contest on the subject Youth, Space, and Sanctityf' and worked with the Girls' Sodality in pre- senting a successful prom. They filled out their agenda this year with a tag day play and dance. r. :ive ff' ' ,stew a ' ' iLfi f f3 ' V im.. SUlP9llelliUDMtUDRlE GIRLS' SWIIAILITY A Sophomore Sodality was' organized as part of the Girls' Sodality this year. It was intended to be mainly a year of instruction and review of Sodality rules and privi- leges. These Sodalists and aspirants also worked with the junior and Senior Sodalists on their projects. In this way we hope to form more perfect Sodalists in the future. OFFICERS-SEATED: Susan O' Hagan, Suzanne Audette. STANDING: Carol LaValley, Bernadette Handy. 74 SIENIUR GlIRlLS9 SOllD.AXllsll llI'Y This year the Girls' Sodality under the direction of Sr. Mary Peter sponsored many activities. They witnessed the opening of the Sodality year with a day of recollection for Sodalists and those interested. A few weeks later, officers were elected and the work was started. Meetings were held monthly and a daily recitation of the office was established. Posters were made to emphasize Catholic Youth Week and Church Unity Octave. At Christmas, girls distributed gifts to old and poor ladies, who were very grateful. Other activities in- cluded an enjoyable Prom, a Catholic Press exhibit, a vocation month project, a May Crowning, and for the Seniors, a trip to Our Lady's Shrine at Enfield, N. H. This year the Sodality committees sponsored a Mother-Daughter Tea, various Lenten projects, visitation of the sick and volunteer hospital work. Our newspaper, Spotlite, was issued once a month. We hope that next year's Sodality will have a year as profitable as our has been. SEATED, left to right: Joan English, prefectg Sister Mary Petersg Laurette Dion, vice-prefect.
