Continuing the trend started during the Edward Delgado running hard to qual- ify his team for the finals in the Iunior relay in the Catholic High School Championships. Gene Holmes strides to an easy victory in the 600 yard run at N.Y.U. meet. Bob Henderson, taking over the lead right after he had suffered a very se- vere fall which caused the first race to be called back. Dan Shea, a capable sprinter as well as an ace distance runner, about to receive the stick and hold the lead. Harry Evans, Catholic High School high jump champion for two years, in his winning effort at the Garden this year. Cross-Country season, the Rice varsity track team proved its ability by placing fourth among all the Catholic High Schools in the city in the C.H.S.l-LA. Championship Meet. Harry Evans, senior high jump champion, and Louis Andrade, senior 50 yard dash champion were the outstanding performers. The two mile relay of Frank Leahy, Gene Holmes, Iohn Fahey and Mat Hennessey scored two points in their event. Iesse Alava aided the cause by tying for fifth in the senior high jump. Other highlights of the Indoor Season were the win- ning of second place 'Iunior-Midget trophies in both the Bronx-Manhattan-Weschester and C.H.S.A.A. Meets. -la -sl ,rm
