At present, they are working on a hand book, which will contain helpful information about our school, its subjects, and extra-curricular activities. Of course, these are only a few of the benefits we've received from the work of our student council. Theyive really done an excellent job. olidrary Pre.s'idcnt,. The editor, Marjorie Klotzbaugh, and her assistant, Agnes Bille, have contributed to make a newspaper which demands much credit from everyone. During the year the stalf members have worked industriously to make the paper interesting and informative. New columns were introduced such as Senior Personalitiesi' and The Corn Crib. A big event was The Candy Heart Ball sponsored by the newspaper staff. The stad' wishes to express its appreciation to Mrs. Nichols, their able advisor. YVe also wish to commend the group for an excellent year of work. legafe President .,,.. . . - Elton Smith Vice Presidenl-e.v,. .,.. Ward Stoops Secretary, - C C. C C e . . Marilyn Swanson Under t.he direction of Mrs. Nagle and Mr. Acker our Debate Club has had an eventful year. The topic of much heated discussion this year was the Forensic League ques- tion. Resolved-That the federal government should provide a system of com- plete medical care available to all citizens at the public expense. Although the debaters Worked hard, they still found time for a little fun. The two entertainment high lights of t.his year were the county debaters' dinner and the annual trip to Allegheny College. Certainly the Hne work done by this progressive club has been a benefit to the people who took part. in the debating and a credit to our school. 49
