DEAR SENIORS, I wonder if you feel today as another group of young people must have felt 200 years ago as they stood on the threshold of a pathway clouded with uncertainty. Their resouces were meager, but their faith was strong. They were the Thomas Jeffersons, the John Adams, the Richard Henry Lees. Thanks to their prayers and vi- sions you have inherited the wor1d's greatest nation. Perhaps you feel that the world is different now, that you are different, that your own efforts can't help much. Not at all. I have seen in you the same attributes that guided those young men into the formation of the most perfect form of government the world has ever known. In their day they faced confusion, burdens of unfair governments, imbalances in human rights, and they faced these problems with fairness, honesty, compassion, and affection for their fellow man. In your play, in your studies, in the differences you ind with each other, and in the system under which you live, I have seen exactly the same set of basic virtues. Perhaps you may never write a 20th century equiv- alent of the Declaration of Independence, but I know that these virtues which you have, applied to any problem, will bring fair solutions to you, and help to smooth the jagged ways facing your community and your nation. I am proud I know you, and I'm grateful to you for having been so much a part of my life these past three years. It is comforting to know when the Tricentennial is celebrated, it will have been from you hands, hearts, and minds that a better world was built for all mankind. S 6

WITH GRATITUDE... We would like to dedicate our yearbook to Mr. Jack Bonza. We will always remember his friendly smiles and greetings as he passed us in the halls. He was never too busy to say hello. He spent two years as our class advisor--attending countless skating parties and car washes. As a teacher, he struggled with many of us during our final years of math.
