Eighty-eight CLASS OF I 944 The smallest class in recent years, the Fresh- men nevertheless managed to make their presence known. They entered into extra-curricular ac- tivities wholeheartedly and gave many olf their members to college teams. Elizabeth Murphy was in charge of the NV. A. A. swimming. Bar- bara Shevlin and Marjorie Truesdale became members olf the Pep Squad. Art Nelson, Herbert Frolander, and Ed Sullivan made the track team. jim Smith showed great promise on the basket- ball team, while both he and Art Nelson joined the upperclassmen on the tennis squad. The Nature Club elected jill Kinnell, secretary. In other college activities members ol' the class olf l94fl showed promise of leadership in the future. Socially speaking, the Freshmen gave excellent support to all College dances and sponsored in their own right a party for their junior brothers and sisters on Saint tPatrick's Day. All upper- classmen, invited guests and party crashers alike, were treated with ll'llC Irish hospitality at this allair. '1'here's no doubt that the class olf '-I-1 has found its place in college life.
