L..f-- -V ft-ff -V FOREWORD With the school year swiftly coming to an end, we pause to catch a final glimpse of all the happiness we've had and the friends we've made at R,C,S, Many things have happened these past four years which we shall never forget, and we find ourselves holding close to our hearts countless happy memories. lf in later years, these pages should enable you to recall the smiles and dreams of '57, we shall be content knowing that we accomplished what we set out to do. Barbara Junceau Editor ALMA MA TER Lead us, O Alma Mater, And when in later life We weary of the conquest, We're tired of toil and strife Lead on, O Alma Mater, As through the years we strive And midst life's toil we struggle, Thy teaching will survive, In days of youthful seeking, Our guardian faithful be, And then, O Alma Mater, We'l1 lift our hearts to thee. We'l1 think of thee, dear R, Thy sons and daughters true, For thee, O Alma Mater Each day our best we'll do. OFFICERS AND ADVISOR Left to right: Wayne Gay, Annette Zneimer, Mr. Harrington, Linda Lloyd, Francis Bray, Nancy Cartmell, MEMORIES ARE MADE OF THIS Leaving our Green Years, we entered the Freshman class and plunged headlong into various activities. We could have Danced All Night at our first whirl, the SADIE HAWKINS DANCE, Our Washington fund was started with Pennies from Heaven, proceeds of several food sales. Remember our Freshman trip to the Sidewalks of New York, where we visited the Museum of Natural History and gathered Stardust in the Hayden Planetarium? In early May, many came in the Coo1, Cool, Cool of the Evening to Danceville, U,S,A. , a block dance. We ended this first glorious year with a wonderful Picnic at Lake Taghanic. School Days arrived again in September and now we were Sophomores, Many gals, straight from the Hound -Dog patch, caught their guys in The Tender Trap and dragged them to the second SADIE HAWKINS DANCE! In the spring, it was Take Me Out to the Ball Game as several of our fellows played on the Varsity team. We wound up a good season with our big dance, THE DIAMOND DRAG, Hot Diggety - what a wonderful Smorgasbord we put on in our Junior year! We were The Proud Ones as we flashed our new class rings in December. Everyone seemed to be Younger Than Springtime at 366, our leap year party. One Enchanted Evening in June, we joined the Senior Class in giving the annual Junior -Senior Prom, PEPPERMINT HEAVEN, Our first business venture as High and Mighty Seniors, a portion supper, was a fabulous success - F1ying Saucers and all! Although there can be found some Silver Threads Among the Gold, we 're not Too Old to Cut the Mustard as one can readily see from our participation in sports and Music, Music, Music. Hail, Hail the Gang's All Here reminds us of those gay class parties. The Wheel of Fortune brought us much needed funds at our dance, ONE MAD NIGHT , Our Senior play ended with the happy refrain For He's a Jolly Good Fellow, a fitting tribute to Mr. Kelly, our director, The Variety Show and paper drives nurtured our Money Tree which was destined to be planted in Washington, D,C, . and You'11 Never Know' what a simply marvelous time we all had in our nation's capital. A both happy and sad day for each of us will be Graduation Day. From then on, lt A11 Depends On You - so take good care of R,C,S. When We Grow Too Old to Dream, we 'll still have these Moments to Remember. GEORGE AUDET TE Intramurals 2.
