What a memorable four yeam they have been. We started our years in the old school building and sponsored the last dance given there, called the Freshman Farewell, the inspiration starting us on our way to Wash- ington. It was not long before we moved into the new building withithe intention of being the most successful class. We were really on our way as Sophomores and began to work even harder. As a special event we celebrated a year of new attractions in the new school with the Anniversary Dance. This second year, quite a few of our boys were given the honor of participating in Varsity basketball, of which our class was proud. Next came a new entertainment in the form of the Moving-Up-Day Exercises, with the sophomores winning the prize as an all-around outstanding class. To end the year we helped the Junior class present Moonlight Fantasy, with Russ Gilmore's orchestra providing the dreamy music for the theme of a moonlight night. Remember the third year when the Sody Pop Hop was given on a rare night, but netting us many needed dollarsl The series of food sales continued, and so did our studies despite all the activities. For the first time in many years, soccer and track were brought back on the scene. Many members of the class were the participants in these two games. Again this year we stole the prize for having the best skit on Moving- Up-Day. To set our Junior year rolling, we presented one of the best dances in many years-- the Madhatters' Hop, sponsoring a contest for the craziest hat. The seniors of that year left us our greatest source of income, the paper drives. Two 'trucks and fifteen class members gayly knocked on doors and had most of their fun throwing the papers at one another. To conclude the year, we gave our assistance to the Seniors to co-produce the Caughranette Waltz in honor of our mathematics teacher who was leaving. We based the theme on mathematical figures and succeeded in intriguing everyone. This being our last and final year, we were the proudest class as we took the role of ruling the school. A dance that was really something was Dance Anonymous, a name given at the last minute. Our paper drives continued in spite of a few minor de- tails, such as adverse weather conditions. A riot was the word for our play, Adam's Evening, under the direction of Mr. Kelly. This function did much to increase our treasury. Remember, we practiced only four weeks and worked hard to present it. Many school activities were successful with the senior members doing the honors in basketball, softball, cheerleading, and hockey. All these activities enabled us to take the annual trip to Washington, which no one will ever forget. And now our years have ended, we are proud to relate that we were the most out- standing class and the largest to graduate. All the time we were receiving our diplomas, we were thinking of our teachers who were responsible for our success. Affectionately, The Class of '55 611155 LW!! We of '55, the classy class, Leave our talents to the Junior mass! To begin, we grant to Barbara G. in our will The lunatic ability of Phil. From Jimmy to Gladys Espie, Some empty tables at the VarietyI To Sally T. we grant one foot of Peggy's height, So she can get up in the world, without a fight! From good old Emerson to Donnie Milroy, Comes his dancing ability--what a joyl Kenny Burke 's extraordinary vocabulary we give to Harold Horton, so he will say more than Boo, We leave to Joyce, Bill B's boom-boom ability, In hopes it will improve her toot-toot agility. Marion's coy looks and melting glances, We give to Bumpy 'with her muscle-bound prances. Mary Chandler and her southern drawl, Because it rhymes, we give to Paul. We give Ei1een's twinkling feet, To Herman T. for a real Jazzy beat. From Shermie comes his Ha-Ha wit, Add it to Bobbie B's and everyone will split. To Judy J. --Carol C. gladly gives, Forty pounds or so, so she really livesl Howie Mann, in order to be real hep, Gets Joey's original patented mambo step. To Louie Ruge from Ellsworth and they both like to fish, We leave three cans of sardines on a wooden dish. Kimbark's hot rod motor and the like, We give to Allan Faust to improve his bike. Since Susanne has such beautiful hair, We give it to Peggy C. so she too, may be fair. All of McAuley's bum knee, Goes to Roger Heywood, for next year's Varsity. To Barbara M. , it's such a shame, We give George's much nicer last name. We give Ruth's Toni, To Dianne to curl her pony. All the oodles of spare time of Judy P's, We give to Pat R. so she can really live a life of ease. From the two Millers comes their music talent and all, To the two Weckessers so their Biff won't fall. Kate Marks's little curls, Are given to Richie so he won't scare the girls. We give Eunice 's oomphie pep, In hopes Ann and the V. stay in step. The athletic prowess of Knappy, Goes to Vincent Asher to keep Coach happy. 01ive's dreams of bliss, We leave to any Sharpe miss. We grant Bob K's way Cavec les femmesj To Russ so he too may find some gems. Dawn H. gets three V's, Vim, Vigor and Vitality of Janice T 's. We will Barbara I-Iarder's demureness, To add to husky Hulle's allureness. The skill of Wendover and her 3111, fContinued on page 72j ef Q A W I ffosr fflusfcfvl. We,the class of 56, Young as we may be, In our school activities Do our best you see. In our first two years of high school we produced such dances as 'The Spring Roundup and 'The Hobo Hop. Other activities were also conducted and we did very well. Thus far in our Junior year we have had The Junior Huklbuk, our greatest success. No story of our class activities would be complete without a mention of our class advisor, Mr. Cullen. He helped the class and brought us much success. We think he deserves many thanks.
