Mr. Austin, left, deserves a place with the seniors. He’s seen sitting on Santa’s lap during one of the many assemblies this year. Seniors ...andfour became one... ” Graduation for the Class of '73 is her». Already? It seems like only yesterday that we were all scared to death at the thought of the first day of tenth grade because it was different from our home school. It was not like following our regular gang from junior high to senior high build- ings and seeing a familiar face of an upper classman that we used to kid around with or of finally meeting that teacher our brother had told us to look out for. It was not like entering a building that we had a general idea of from attending basketball games there. No, this was all so different. There were new faces and new teach- ers (whom we had to find out about on our own), strange rooms, and so many places to get lost in. We’d ask a kid standing by the stairwell to help us. He’d just stare back; he was lost, too. The first week we sat straight and were good till we found out how much the teachers would take. Gradually, though, we relaxed to just being ourselves. It’s easy now to look back and laugh at those trying times. We now realize that those first few days of that sophomore year were the whole beginning of becoming “one.” Karen Albert Data Processing Karen Aljoe Distributive Education Paula Anderson Graphic Arts Charles Alsbaugh Metal Fabrication Myrna Ankeny Food Service Deborah Anderson Food Service Carl Armagost Metal Fabrication

Seniors Ronald Boston Auto Body Gary Boyer Carpentry Frederick Bovaird Electrical Construction Gary Bovaird Electrical Technology We are a relatively new school matching our pace with that of modern society. We are independent, and this year the Class of '73 experienced a new era. JROTC took a hand in this new pacesetting by adding glamour to our customs already in practice. For example, when the National Anthem sounded each morn- ing, we took it for granted as the flag was raised. Now it means so much more because this task is done by the JROTC Color Guard in full uniform. During this ceremony, we realize what our country really stands for -- the pride we now feel. With everyone trying to be different today, we are ahead of them all when it comes to education. We are learning job skills, work attitudes, and, above all, we, the students, make our own choices of what we want to be. And, fin- ally, we are something out of the ordinary. We are Vo-Tech!
