Sauers, l'd define him as a little man with a big heart and a still bigger imagination, who by pure accident became a very ordinary and commonplace school teacher, always and tiorever dreaming ofthe great things he hopes to do some day before the sun sets. This little fellow is a strange mixture of idealism and realism, caught between a world of fancy and a world of intellectualism but continuously devoted to the routine of teaching boys and girls he respects and loves. To him teaching is a noble profession, but a profession which is just part of a career a real teacher should aspire to attain. He and his twin brother were born in Union County, Pennsylvania back in 189-1, near the time Saint Patrick celebrates as a holv dav. After a number of .vears in a little red schoolhouse, the two brothers entered the Nlittlinburg High School where the one twin graduated with tirst honor Cguess which twinl. ln 1921 ixlr. Sauers graduated from Bucknell University, Lewisburg, Pa. and has been teaching ever since. During the summertime he attended summer school at both Penn State and Bucknell. lle holds a B. S. degree and has earned twenty-six credits towards a Nlaster's degree, needing four more credits for the 51. A. lle considers the pupils he tauglit his most valuable possessions and loves them more than he loves himselti. 0
