Home Economics club was very active this year while learning good homemaking. The club mem- bers finished off the year with a mother and daughter banquet and a bake sale which were both hugh suc- cesses. The mother and daughter banquet was held on May l6. The girls had a chance to use what they had learned in class as they prepared the main dishes, vegetables, salads and rolls. Mrs. Schmidt the ad- visor was presented with flowers from all the girls, and the occasion was a wonderful climax to a year of hard work and fun. For the first time this year the entire school was asked to contribute material to be used in a publication for RHS. Because of the great amount of material which was received for Hyperbole, as the book was called, the club found it necessary to delay the publication date. Many of the members produced prize-winning material and all learned more about the English language and the art of self- expression. 5. For Sandy A sad-eyed lady, in blue velvet Led me through the tangled weeds, Until we came upon a beach Where there was no end to time. We walked along the golden shore, Our faces held against the wind, I and the lady in blue velvet Strolling on the timeless sands.
