CLASS HISTORY On September 4 1944 thxrteen green Freshles chmbed the steps to Reynolds Hxgh School In our class were Lyle Dragoo Gerald Wranosky Robert Melvin, Roland Mollenbrandt Hazel May Beverley Powell H11da Krueger Ahce Riddle Barbara Gregory, Wanda DeFra1n Wanda Boyd Beverley Crazg and Ardith Heme Hazel May left the second week of school to make her home ln New Castle Wyomxng For 1mt1at1on day we wore pajamas and baby caps We girls wore our hair 1n p1g ta1ls wrth green rbbons to match ourselves After this day we were proud Freshmen and we were allowed to orgamze our class For our officers we chose Robert Melvin Pres1dent Lyle Dragoo V1ce Pres1dent and Ardith Heine Secretary and Treasurer Mrs Ben Pnefert was chosen as our class sponsor On Fnday October 11 we entertained the faculty and upper classmen at a Freshman Return Party Refreshments of cake frmt salad w1th whipped cream and punch were served Dunng the F reshrnan year Bill Barton who had previously attended the Diller H1gh School Jo1ned our class Beverley Powell moved to Alexandrla and Roland Mollenbrandt moved to Falrbury Robert Melv1n departed his hfe on March 14 1945 On May 3, Wanda Mae Boyd was senously burned and was hospitalized In September 1945 e1ght of us proud Sophomores started back to school Gerald was m1ss1ng from the group and also Wanda Mae Boyd who was st1ll hOSP1t8.11Z6d and passed away 1n the middle of September Our class orgamzed wxth the following officers Lyle Dragoo President Hilda Krueger, Vmce Presxdent and Barbara Gregory Secretary and Treasurer Mrs Heine was chosen as our class sponsor Darlene Garber, who was formerly a student of the Plymouth Hzgh School jomed our class the second semester malung our class total mne members In 1946 seven intelhgent Juruors enrolled in the Reynolds High School Ardxth and Hilda were nfussxng from our class They contmued the1r High School education in Hebron At the end of the f1rst semester Beverley Craig became interested in matrimony She is now Mrs Glenn R1ddle Bill Shoots who moved to Reynolds from Steele City began the second semester here to make our class stzll total seven members Our class officers conszsted of the following Barbara Gregory President Lyle Dragoo V1ce Pres1dent and Darlene Garber Secretary and Treasurer Mr Vance was elected class sponsor On November 26th our class gave athree act farce comedy Three Moss Roses by Helen A Monsell Mrs Ray Hoyt directed our play January Z8 was a red letter day for we Juniors for this was the day we received our nngs Our rmgs were made of green and pink gold with the R built up on top On May Z we entertained the Semors and faculty at a banquet which was held in the lunch room Our theme was the Gay 90 s Four Sophomore boys Bill Krause, Donald Feis Duane Beachler and Norbert Heller served as our Barbar Shop Quartette and our faithful waters After the Banquet we took the Seniors and faculty to a picture show at the Bonham Theater 1n Fairbury On September 2 1947 seven sophisticated Seniors continued their high school education 1n Reynolds We elected our class officers Lyle Dragoo, Presfdent, Alice Riddle Vice Presxdent B111 Shoots Secretary and Bill Barton, Treasurer We elected two members Wanda DeFra.in and Darlene Garber, to the Student Council Wanda was chosen chairman of the group and Darlene as a member at large Mr Vance was again chosen our class sponsor The Junior Senior Banquet given on the seventh day of May was enjoyed very much by the senior class The theme was planned around our motto Tonight we set sail Following the banquet the group attended a show at the Bonham Theater Our sneak day which is a custom of the High School, was on April 28 1948 Our class history terrninated when, after the formalities of Baccalaureate and Commencement we received our diplomas pronouncing us graduates of Reynolds High School tttttttttttt Words are like leaves: and where they most abound, Much fruit or sense beneath is rarely found. . . .
