Queen Sheri Gerritiz, winning Greyhound. l 2 Mr. Toland, Mrs. Toland, and prize- He milked cows for an lowa spinster as a youth to earn enough money for his education. He's been to live institutions of higher learning with an LLB in law and a degree in mathematics as a re- sult of his years of study. He was in Nagasaki after Wforld War II and has seen the effects of the atomic bomb. He has visited such tar away shores as Saipan, Eniwetok, Okinawa, Guam, and the New Hebrides. He owns a pilot's license, sells real estate, and raises and trains greyhounds. He likes to read Perry Mason novels and be- lieves that men should do what makes them happiest, and not take an occupation because other men think they should. He has taught school for sixteen years and says he will continue to teach until he can no longer see the blackboard. He is Paul Toland and we dedicate this animal to him because he has found the time to become involved, not only in teaching mathematics, but also with his students. This is the way we thank him for his inspiration and his interest in us . . . not only as stu- dents, but as people. . ., -I ,gig K NX X 5:-nf K +1 ,M x '. During the week each class se- lected a princess to represent their class. Nancy Callister was the Freshman choice. Sophomore Kathy Wisely represented her class. The juniors chose Le Ann Hart as their princess, and the Seniors selected Judy Briece and Martha Carpen- ter. The week's activities ended with the crown- ing of the 1967-68 homecoming queen at the assembly Thursday afternoon. At the announcing of the queen to a silent and wondering crowd both tears of joy and happiness were shed by the teary-eyed Judy Briece and a pleased student ff 'M body as Bruce Campbell, Student Body President, crowned our new queen and presented her to the students. The many unforgettable moments of the 1967 Homecoming will long be remem- bered to all of us and especially to those students who played a part in making it one of the best yet. .'X of F, The Hog Wallow Wing Din i Hogwallow Wing Ding Queen Linda Schamberger and King Dan Sutherland Football Court 549' reg- Senior princess Linda Crandall Escort Rick Younts igq Sophomore princess jackie Abella Escort Brad Foidel junior princess Vickie Pert Escort Bill Smith xo- lf' Freshman princess Debi Patterson Escort Pedro Estrada vw Q. ., .N y M5E,1.g.5,.,.,f ,X ff '. 122:55 I . , fl. , Q aj.: - ggfj ff- iff rv: 5 if nf . we 81, ,F Q f s X M 'iv ' Fliijig- A 49, .rf 5 V ,- 'niw 'Y .v I' ' 4' - S - l,i'-i'Q'- ' fig 5 . af , ,NEAN fl.. 1 ?52+w, is 5. 3 ootball B Gi i O l, di H -V Winter Sporty Ozm' Img Senior princess Linda Kavanaugh Junior princess Barbara Snyder Escort Rick Younts Escort Barry Boman Sophomore princess Cathy'Casey Freshman princess jenene Rudolph Escort Dave Perkins Escort Pedro Estrada 1 X - ygqfflzm AQ' vsmfw X. 4:5 A If Q an W . vt, :uf 7 ,S 'iff' - f. ., V .ff With A Song In Your H em! Irene Theodosaki was born on the largest island of Crete, adding to the population of Iraklion, the largest city on the island. She had always stayed within a small perimeter of this sea-port town, except for one excursion to the Grecian capital of Athens. Then, within a matter of a few months, Irene found herself far beyond the limits imposed by her child- hood, on the other side of the world, learning to know and understand another people. - Irene will always recall the many people she has seen, and the things her -touch with the world of mankind have taught her. She will remember a city she terms beautiful , her sec- ond home town, Portland, Oregon. She will remember her distress at the rumor of cowboys and Indians and their wars and fighting, and will recall how relieved she was when she learned that one had to go to a rodeo to see cowboys and Indians. Irene will think of her first encounter with the cold, ici- ness of her hrst snow fall. She will remember a tumble into the Pacific Ocean, much too cold to swim in. But most of all, Irene will remember her many friends, some born in Troutdale, and others in such far away places as the Philippines. She will think of the friendly kids and the more friendly teachers, and she will know, as many others do not, that at each end of the globe, people are alike in the way that they feel toward each other . . . regardless of any differences inclimate, geography, or government. And we at Reynolds High School can share the memories of this girl who has shown us that all men can get along together in friendship and understanding. AL I1 Ii K , Id! The Club of the Year for 1968 is Letterman's Club. As a service to the school, Letterman's Club was in charge of changing the activities billboard located near the administration build- ing. They also served as waiters for the Father- Daughter Banquet and held ropes at pep assem- blies to keep students off the floor. At the Bea- ver Baseball Opener the club ushered as a serv- ice to the community. Letterman's Club did not limit themselves only to a few tasks, but also donated money for various school projects. They donated money from their treasury for the fund used to supply the athletes with Reynolds sports jackets. They also donated the banners in the gym at a price of S25 apiece. The Reynolds Cross Country team of 1967 Came on with a strong potential. Although this season they only took one first, they showed great improvement. Doug Foley, who placed high in many meets, was named most valuable runner of the 1967 season. Larry Moluf held the honor of being captain of the team. Those members who also contributed greatly to the team were Glen Col- lier, David Ludeman, and Harley lviiethe. Tom Martin, and Greg Saxton were two of the more outstanding j.V. runners. Their addi- tion to the varsity team next year will be wel- comed. A special appreciation goes out to the Cross Country coach, Mr. Buhler. The 1967 Girls Swim Team represented our school well, losing only three events of the season. The girls placed fourth in district and were able to qualify for the state swim meet held in Eugene. Holding the position of captain on the girls team was jana johnson. This year's Boys Swim Team lost all of their meets but did gain some second place honors. The boys were led by Captain Steve Reardon. Richard Hoffman was a great help to the boys, gaining them many first place honors in the 200 and 400 yard freestyle.
