This spring, he was selected along with veteran Sachel Page from a field of 800 candidates. Basis for the selection came from the record of the Drain Blacksox, a semi-professional baseball team 6'f top college baseball players from the Pacific Coast area playing out of Drain, Oregon. The team was selected the best in its league over a three year period. In 1958, the Blacksox were the Pacinc Northwest national championsg they finished seventh in 19593 and fourth in 1960. Mr. Stratton managed the team for tive years and also played third base and outfield for the team throughout his managerial career. The Big Moment has Enally arrived! l ' 64 Reynolds is famous for the traditional all-night party which each .year is planned and chaperoned by parents of seniors. The 1967 party marked a-perfect ending to our senior year. We danced to the sounds of the Cheetahs for about an hour and a half. There were sandwiches to munch on and many other goodies to keep us going until breakfast. The cafeteria was decorated very beautifully with a polynesian theme featuring a large volcano that looked very real and flowers scattered everywhere. The Little Theatre ran a movie, A Very Special Favor , starring Rock Hudsong another area offered a football movie, The gym was open all night and many of the seniors tried their skill at basketball and ping-pong. MW i A Night In Senior Class .31 One of the highlights of the party. Polynesia All-N ight Party .f Many prizes were won in the Bingo game. A fortune teller told the seniors of their good fortunes and bright futures. For breakfast, which was served at 5:30 A.M., our good parents provided a large selection of breakfast foods, sausage and eggs, hotcakes, hash browns, bakery goods-and to drink, coffee, orange juice and milk. The seniors had a good time at the party because it was well planned. We will cherish the memories of this night fand morningj for the rest of our lives. fi! 3.4 - v ,L :lf 4 1 fx 'N ' ' Lf , 5, 6 , 1 e ru, -, W 5 J 5 Q Q f S: 'X ff Q 5 is Q i 5' iw . +5 . 1 .At 4 9 ,wc Q f b ct ' E was A. 1155035 . f 'E -I9 ,f, .4f. Each month the girls visit the aged women who reside there. They gave them such favors as: ditty bags, valentines, Easter baskets, and flowers. During the Christmas season, the club made a yule log for each teacher as a desk center piece. Also they made decorations for the bulletin boards in the halls. To earn money, the club made and sold Christmas swags. Last year, the club made nearly S5100 selling these Christmas decorations, and this year about 560. They also sold refreshments at both of the school plays. Last summer the group travelled to Kingfisher for a camping trip. This year, Lamani planned a Christmas stay at one of the member's mountain cabin. Also they have plans for a father-daughter get together in the spring. Rah! Reel Kick 'em in the knee! Where are the Freshmen?l Reynolds Foreign Exchange Student Susi arrived here in September to a wonderful reception where she met her new family-the Bunnett's. Shortly after her arrival she was presented to the student body, and given a traditional Reynolds' Mum to commemorate homecoming. Susi was welcomed warmly by the-students of RHS, and consequently had made friends with many seniors as well as underclassmen. She was impressed with all her classes and also by the interest taken by both teachers and classmates. Before departing for California at Christmas Vacation, Susi attended the Christmas dance and thoroughly enjoyed it. Shortly after her return, she began to make speeches to the school, answering questions about her countryg the highlight of this was the AFS assembly held at Reynolds-which made her feel proud of her own school and made her realize how much she appreciated it. One of the most thrilling moments for Susi was when she was voted Girl of the Month for Feb- ruary, for the Quality: Poise and Charm . Another great moment was when the Girls' League members gave her a present-a dress to wear to the prom, so that she would always remember an. American prom: which she certainly will-with fond memories. , Maybe Susi's proudest moment was when she was voted Girl of the Year. She immediately cabled Q her Parents, who, in turn were delighted, though they didn't really know what it was! Susi has graduated now with the rest of the Seniors and she just can't believe that she has to leave yi Y f pretty.soon. and will find it hard to re-adjust. But we're sure that her memory of Reynolds High will live on in her heart as our memory of her will live on in ours. They got off to a very poor start but after losing their first four games to Wy'East, Parkrose, Jesuit, and Sandy they won the next two against the Dalles and Silverton. The j.V.'s closed the season with a loss to Molalla. The final season's record for the team was two wins and live losses.
